Cloud-Assisted Reminders
We’re inviting users to try a new way of receiving reminders, with added support from the cloud to improve delivery over time. This feature is currently available as optional for those who want to explore it and test it.
How cloud-assisted reminders work
Until now, Prayminder has relied entirely on your phone to schedule and deliver reminders. While this works well most of the time, modern operating systems sometimes delay or suppress notifications, especially when apps have not been opened recently or when battery optimizations are active.
With cloud-assisted reminders enabled, a small service running in the cloud helps with reminder timing and delivery. You still choose all your reminder preferences inside Prayminder, and reminders still arrive as normal notifications on your phone. The difference is that when it is time for a reminder, the cloud service helps notify your device at the right moment, even if the app has not been running in the background. Your phone then takes over and displays the reminder as usual.
Privacy
Privacy remains central to this design. Your prayer text, notes, and history never leave your device. The cloud service does not store or read your prayers. It only handles anonymous timing and delivery signals needed to support reminders. In short, the cloud helps with when, not with what.
