Quick Help
I never received any reminders
If you installed Prayminder and never received any reminders, please follow these steps:
- Open Prayminder and go to Settings → Reminders. Make sure “Enable reminders” is turned on.
- Ensure that you have added at least one prayer in your prayer list.
- In your device's system settings, ensure that notifications are allowed for Prayminder.
I am receiving fewer reminders than expected
By default, Prayminder schedules and sends reminder notifications on-device. This might be affected by operating system issues such as battery optimizations.
To improve reliability, we recommend enabling cloud-assisted reminders in the same section, which adds an extra layer of support to help ensure your reminders are delivered consistently throughout the day.
Reminders stopped working
If you have been receiving reminders in Prayminder but they have stopped working, please follow these steps:
- Try turning “Enable reminders” off and on again inside Prayminder settings, then wait until later in the day to see if the schedule returns to normal.
- Ensure that you have at least one prayer in your prayer list that is active and enabled for reminders.
To improve reliability, we recommend enabling cloud-assisted reminders in the same section, which adds an extra layer of support to help ensure your reminders are delivered consistently throughout the day.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sync Prayminder across all my devices?
Prayminder is designed with a privacy-first approach, which means your prayer content is primarily stored locally on your device.
At the moment, there is no automatic cross-device sync built into the app. If you use multiple devices, each one will keep its own local set of prayers.
We are exploring secure ways to introduce optional sync in the future, while keeping sensitive prayer content protected and under your control.
How does Prayminder work?
Prayminder is designed to help you return to prayer throughout your day in a simple and steady way.
You start by adding the prayers that matter to you, whether you are praying for people in your life, specific situations or causes, Bible verses you want to return to, or short affirmations and written prayers. You can organize these into groups to reflect different areas of your life, such as family, work, church, or personal growth.
Once your list is in place, reminders can work in two different ways.
Random rotation
You choose how many reminders you would like per day and define a start and end time. Prayminder then schedules notifications within that window and rotates through your prayers over time. This creates a steady rhythm where different prayers surface throughout the day without you having to plan each one manually.
Custom prayer times
If you want certain prayers to appear at specific moments, you can assign them fixed times. For example, you might set a morning prayer to appear every day at a particular hour, or schedule a one-time prayer before an important event. These prayers will show up exactly at the times you define, while the rest of your list can continue rotating normally.
Marking prayers as prayed for
When a reminder appears, you can open it and tap “Amen” to mark that prayer as prayed. This helps you stay mindful of your rhythm without turning prayer into pressure or performance.
How do I mark a reminder as prayed?
You can mark a prayer as prayed in three simple ways.
- In the app, open the Reminders tab and tap “Amen” on the reminder shown there.
- In the app, open any prayer’s detail view and tap “Amen” at the bottom right of the screen.
- From your notification center, long press the reminder notification to expand it, then tap “Amen” directly from there.
Each time you tap “Amen,” the prayer is recorded as prayed and becomes part of your ongoing prayer rhythm.
