Stats, cloud-assisted reminders and more are coming up in the next release

Newsletter · January 2026

As this new year begins, we step into it with gratitude and expectations. It's the first year that Prayminder begins from day one with our full working time devoted to it, and looking ahead we can't wait to see more of its potential being unfolded in this new season.

Before sharing what is new in Prayminder, let's pause and pray together:

Prayer for the Year Ahead

Heavenly Father, we thank You for bringing us into a new year.

  • As this year begins, we ask that more people would turn to prayer during their days, and through prayer turn their hearts toward You.
  • We pray for faith to be strengthened, for trust to grow, and for a deeper awareness of the life of Christ within us.
  • We also place Prayminder in Your hands. May it continue to grow and serve people around the world, helping prayer remain part of everyday life.

We trust this year into Your care. Amen.

In This Month’s Update

Thanks to your ongoing feedback and support, here is what is new and what is coming soon.

Coming up: Prayer Stats (iOS)

At the end of last year we introduced a yearly overview in the iOS app. In the upcoming release arriving in just a few days, the Stats section expands into a more detailed view for those who want to explore it. You will be able to see your prayer activity across monthly, yearly, and lifetime charts, starting from the very first day you used Prayminder. For some of you, this means looking back almost nine years!

The app has been keeping track internally of when Amen was tapped all this time, and this update finally gives shape to that history. We want to reiterate that we don't see prayer as something to measure or compare; still, we have ourselves experienced that seeing our prayer rhythm helps stay rooted in the habit of returning to Christ, especially in busy seasons.

For that reason, this section remains completely optional and discretely placed. You will only see it if you choose to visit the Stats section by tapping the chart icon at the top of the Reminders view. The page also includes a simple streak indicator showing how many days in a row you have prayed at least once, for those who find that kind of awareness helpful.

Marking Prayers as Prayed, Anywhere

A small but meaningful improvement that many of you have asked for has been already available in iOS since the last update, and coming to Android in the next release in just a few days.

You can now tap Amen to mark a prayer as prayed not only from reminders, but also directly from the prayer’s detail view. This makes it easier to record prayers that happen outside of your reminder schedule.

Coming up: Cloud-Assisted Prayer Reminders (Experimental)

The upcoming iOS release (version 1.3.3, available in a few days) will also introduce an experimental feature called cloud-assisted reminders, which can be enabled from Settings by those who are curious to try it.

On modern phones, reminder delivery can sometimes be affected by system limitations that are outside of our control. Cloud-assisted reminders add an additional layer of reliability by allowing our servers to help coordinate reminder timing, while all prayer content continues to live only on your device. This feature is optional, can be turned off at any time, and exists simply to make reminders more dependable in everyday use.

If you enjoy helping us test new features, we warmly invite you to try this beta and share your experience with us. You can send feedback following the Give feedback link through the app's settings, and your observations will help us understand when this approach is helpful and how it can be improved before wider release.

Scripture Inside Prayminder (Testing Soon)

We are continuing our work with YouVersion to bring the Bible directly into the Prayminder experience. While this is not released yet, we are getting closer to opening this up in an early testing phase.

The intention is that users will be able to read the Bible directly inside Prayminder and select verses to attach to their prayers, allowing Scripture and personal prayer lists to live together in one place.

If you enjoy being among the first to see how new features take shape, and would like to help us test this and influence how it works through your feedback, we would love to hear from you! The first version will be shared with a small group of iOS users through Apple’s TestFlight, and you can reach out to us to let us know that you'd like to take part.

Want to help?

Prayminder exists because of the generous support of people like you, whether through making a donation, volunteering time, offering a skill, or simply keeping this project in your prayers. If you feel drawn to help, we’d love to hear from you.

May Prayminder continue to support your prayer rhythm throughout the year ahead, during ordinary days and through changing seasons.
